Chanukah is around the corner! It’s a joyous and festive time of year as we celebrate the miraculous victory of our Jewish ancestors. We’ve put together events for all members of our Sinai family – from students to families to generations of congregants alike. As 2022 comes to an end, we look forward to many fun celebrations around the Festival of Lights. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom – for history, prayer and recipe refreshers! We’ve put together some resources for you – have a look!

Chanukah padlet

What’s a padlet? A padlet is a collection of resources on a specific topic. Each resource that is posted to the online padlet is linked to a respective website. Have fun, exploring our Chanukah padlet!

Dedicating the 6th night of Chanukah.

In addition to engaging in the mitzvah (commandment) of lighting the Chanukah candles, many families and individuals dedicate the sixth night of Hanukkah to considering how to perform mitzvot that can positively impact others. Temple Sinai is a proud Leadership partner with the Jewish Family Service (JFS) Jewish Disabilities Advocates (JDA) program. As a JDA Leadership Partner, Temple Sinai has the opportunity to engage in comprehensive organizational work to further inclusion of those Temple Sinai congregants and students with a large variety of disabilities. We are able to offer resources, ideas and discussions to families about the critical topic of inclusion of those with disabilities.

These two Chanukah resources (above) are enlightening and heartwarming – take a look and engage with your families and children! There’s a fun coloring activity for kids!
