TEMPLE Talk

Temple Sinai’s 2021 and 2022 8th and 9th grade classes concluded their year by creating a “TEMPLE Talk” (think TED Talk but for our Temple)!

9th grade spent the year learning about social justice and ways to actively engage with causes they care about in the Colorado community. The 8th and 9th grade classes together learned about the concept of ‘design process.’ Design process is a way to approach large tasks at hand by breaking it down into bite size steps, thinking about the challenge at hand holistically.

Through this process, the group decided to focus on discrimination and to share what they learned with the community via a TEMPLE Talk. The group looked at what is discrimation, how does it impact their lives, how does it impact the lives of other people, where does it stem from, and what do with this information. They spent time workshopping their talk and practicing it in front of a live audience. The 8th and 9th grade classes concluded their year by presenting the TEMPLE Talk live in front of the 7th grade class and a number of Religious School teachers.

Temple Sinai is incredibly proud of the work these student have engaged in and are confident with a spark like this, they will change the world.
